Moving Drawceraptor

March 25, 2012 § Leave a comment

So I have finally gotten around to updating my personal website and I believe I will be able to integrate this blog into it. I’m not sure exactly how it will work, but just be aware that if you subscribe to Drawceraptor you may no longer get updates after I move it. I am trying to centralize everything around http://www.jefflangevin.com, and soon the blog should be housed there. Not sure if you’ll have to resubscribe or not, I’m not familiar with the process. But I wanted to let people know just in case. I will make another post when I have it all sorted out, and I should be able to link you to the new location.

Show at the Uforge gallery

Last month my piece “Here nor There” was part of an illustration show at Jamaica Plain’s Uforge Art Gallery. It’s a tiny little space but I like their approach, which is to not jury their submissions. This means that they are not as selective about what they show as other galleries, but it also allows for non-established artists (like myself) to show their work. Here are some blurry pictures from the event, as well as the print of my piece

A local gallery is having a show inspired by fictional characters. My pieces “Wicked” and “Peach” will be shown along with about a dozen other works. Should be fun to see.

New work + Threadless submission

Owlhead by Jeff Langevin

Just finished a new drawing based on a theme I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. This is kind of a test for a series I’d like to work on which speaks to a desire to connect with the natural world; specifically, through a kind of unity between animal and human. I am not sure how I will treat each of them, but this illustration at least is entirely a pencil drawing with the exception of the yellow color.

This was really a pleasure to work on since the process was fairly different from my usual. It really just began as a notebook sketch, which I ended up really liking and redrawing in a larger, more finished form. I spent a lot of time hunched over my drawing board with a pencil in hand rather than hunched over my keyboard with a stylus in hand.

I have also submitted this as a tshirt image on Threadless.com. If you like it, please click below to vote for it to be printed!

And of course prints can be found here

Thanks for looking!
